Mero IELTS Sathi Terms of Use

1. About us and these Terms

Mero IELTS Sathi ("the site", "we", "us") is run by Mero IELTS Sathi, Nepal. Contact: inquiry@meroieltssathi.com. When you sign up, you tick a box to agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. By using the site, you also agree to them.

2. An independent site

The site is an independent study aid with original material. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by IELTS, IDP, the British Council or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. "IELTS" is a registered name owned by its holders.

3. What we offer

Lessons, an IELTS guide, practice sets for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, a Word Bank, a Progress page, an automatic Writing check and Teacher Checks. All practice material is written by us. It is not taken from real exam papers and is for practice only.

4. Free use and limits

The site is currently free with an account. Visitors without an account can see previews.

• A free account includes 5 practice sets for each skill.
• Automatic Writing checks: up to 10 a day, and up to 3 for each Writing task. An answer needs at least 20 words.
• Teacher Checks: 4 free for each account, one for each saved Writing answer.
• Sample answers open after you save your own answer.

We may change these limits. If we ever introduce paid features, we will update these Terms before charging for anything.

5. Scores, bands and checks are estimates

We cannot promise any IELTS score. All scores and bands on the site are practice estimates, not official IELTS results:

• Your estimated Listening and Reading bands are based on your latest complete practice set, using a general conversion table. The real test can differ.
• Teacher Check bands are an estimate by one of our teachers.
• The automatic Writing check uses AI and can make mistakes. It gives no marks.

6. The automatic Writing check

When you use the automatic Writing check or ask for a Teacher Check, your Writing is sent to Anthropic, an outside AI service, as explained in section 5 of our Privacy Policy. If you don't want this, please don't use these checks.

7. Teacher Checks

One of our teachers reads your Writing answer and gives marks for the four Writing criteria, with written tips. We aim to return Teacher Checks as quickly as we can, but we cannot promise a fixed time. A Teacher Check is a learning help and an estimate, not an official score.

8. Your account

• Use an email address that is your own. One person may have only one account, and accounts must not be shared.
• Write your name in English letters, as on your passport. Do not pretend to be another person.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
• You must be 18 or older, or have your parent's or guardian's agreement (see Privacy Policy section 12).

9. Our content

The lessons, guide, questions, passages, audio, pictures, sample answers and the Word Bank belong to Mero IELTS Sathi or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You may use them only for your own study on the site. You may not copy, download, record, screenshot, share, sell or publish them, or use them to train software, without our written permission. "Download my results" gives you your own information only, not our content.

If you break this rule, we may suspend or close your account and take any other steps the law allows.

10. Your content

The answers and notes you save belong to you. You allow us to store them, to send your Writing for the checks you choose (section 6), to show it to a teacher when you ask for a Teacher Check, and to use your answers to improve the site as described in our Privacy Policy. Please don't write anything unlawful or offensive, or anything about other people's private lives.

11. Acceptable use

Do not try to break into the site, guess other people's passwords, get around the limits in section 4, overload the site, copy its content with automatic tools, or let others use your account.

12. Availability

We work to keep the site running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. We may change, pause or stop parts of the site, with notice where we can.

13. Limits of responsibility

The site is provided "as it is". As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss caused by using the site or by not being able to use it, including your exam results or decisions you make based on our estimates.

14. Ending an account

You can delete your account yourself at any time on the My account page. Deleting is final. What is deleted, what is kept, and for how long, is explained in section 10 of our Privacy Policy. After deleting, the same email address can sign up again only after 24 hours, and the new account starts fresh. If you do not log in for 12 months, your account is deleted in the same way.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms. If someone says an account uses their name, we act only on clear proof (see Privacy Policy section 13).

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and for important changes we will also tell you on the site. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

16. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute will be handled by the District Court of Lalitpur, Nepal.
